Inflammatory mechanisms in the context of obesity and insulin resistance

Molecular mechanisms of interaction between local and systemic citokines belonging to the big TNF family which are implicated in the regulation of inflammatory and insulin signal networks, with a specific focus on adipocyte, hepatocytes and macrophage cell types are also a target of our group. Besides, current activities focuses on microbiota studies within the context of obesity and type 2 diabetes as interplay between host and intestinal flora are also being investigated.
